What are some ways a divorce can affect a child, even if outwardly they seem 'ok'?

I think that a fear of commitment and relationship stability becomes an issue with children whose parents don't get along whether divorced or not. There can be signs of low self esteem, self doubt etc. because of not being accepted by the new family and feeling of fathers rejection. Even parents who stay together can cause these things on a child due to fighting all the time maybe infidelity. Our biggest problem is when the parents use the children against each other and the children not getting the RIGHT kind of attention. You know, too many gifts not enough quality time..
